The USA Woman's hockey team defeated Canada 2-1 to win the Canada Cup Sept 09/09, this is the second win in a row for the Americans who beat them 4-2 earlier in the tournament. They have also won the 2008 and 2009 World Championships. Setting them in the role of favorite going into the Olympics. After they lost the 2006 Olympic finals to the Canadians. The Americans found some of the top young players in the country and built a new team with these stars. It has paid off. The wins brought the all-time record to 48 losses, 33 wins, and 1 tie for the US. But the Americans have dominated the last 2 years.
The Americans and the Canadians are the two dominate woman's hockey teams on the planet, and the Gold medal final would only not happen if one of the two teams are upset. Sweden and Finland should meet in the Bronze medal match. There should be some exciting games and I look forward to seeing the outcome.
